Yoga Basics Workshop: Honing Your Proprioception & Alignment

New Date!!!

Join us on June 1st from 12-2pm in Griffith Park for a transformative Yoga Basics Workshop: Honing Your Proprioception & Alignment. Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, this workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of key alignment principles and cultivate a heightened awareness of your body in space.

Proprioception, the body's innate sense of its own position and movement, plays a crucial role in yoga practice. In this workshop, we'll explore how to refine your proprioceptive abilities to enhance your alignment, stability, and overall practice.

As an experienced 500-hour yoga instructor, I will be there in this workshop to guide you through a series of foundational poses, focusing on proper alignment cues and subtle adjustments to optimize your practice. You'll learn how to engage key muscle groups, understand what to feel and where, activate your core, and find greater ease and stability in each posture.

Through a combination of guided instruction, hands-on adjustments, and experiential learning, you'll develop a deeper awareness of your body's alignment and movement patterns. Whether you're working on standing poses, forward folds, or backbends, you'll leave feeling more confident and empowered in your practice.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, from beginners looking to establish a strong foundation to experienced yogis seeking to refine their practice. Come join us in the serene beauty of Griffith Park and embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation through yoga.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot today and take the next step in honing your proprioception and alignment on the mat! Please bring your yoga mats, blocks, water bottles, and sun protection. Note: Details about our exact meeting place will be emailed with confirmation.

A suggested energy exchange of $44 is encouraged and can be sent via Zelle to stellarmoonllc@gmail.com or register via Eventbrite below.

Yoga & Plant Walk for Spring Equinox With Rose from Plant Friends

This offering is an opportunity to connect with the emerging energy of the Spring Equinox.

Flowing into Spring Equinox

Yoga, Meditation & Plant Medicine to Honor Our Transition into Spring

With Jessica Natalia of Stellar Moon Yoga and Rose Fairley of Plant Friends

Join us in the Santa Monica Mountains, the heart of our urban wilds, for afternoon of tuning into our bodies, breath and the land through yoga, meditation and a medicinal plant walk! Naturalist-Herbalist Rose Fairley will lead a 1hr plant walk to meet abundant local medicinal plants such as Eucalyptus, Chickweed,  Elderberry and Black Sage and introduce some guidelines for harvesting/tending in a way that supports our native ecosystems.

Following our walk, Jessica will guide us through a 1hr gentle flow that connects with the emerging energy of Spring. We will conclude with a brief period of meditation with the opportunity to share our intentions for the Spring while sipping a grounding medicinal tea made by Rose.

**This event is outdoors in Griffith Park! Please bring your own yoga mats, yoga blocks, or straps as needed. As we will be also hiking, be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and water for the medicinal plant walk led by the amazing Rose (aw, thanks Jessica!)

About Jessica (me)

My name is Jessica Natalia, and I am a 500 HR yoga teacher who loves to incorporate the divine feminine and Ayurvedic health into a gentle yoga practice. My goal is always to facilitate the space for the community to connect breath, body, and being. I love to create a safe and mindful container for folks to explore and deepen their yoga practice in, and to bring some stillness to an often overstimulated mind.

In my free time, I love to learn about, grow, wildcraft, and explore cooking with herbs and flowers. In this way, I can connect with their subtle healing properties for mind, body, and spirit.

About Rose

Hello, Iā€™m Rose. I founded Plant Friends to nurture a community where connections between people, plants and the wider community of life can flourish. I bring my decades-long love of wild foods as well as my experience as a Certified California Naturalist and Native Landscape Designer and herbalist. We cannot care for those we do not know! As we work to heal our relationship with the earth and ourselves, Plant Friends is a place to learn from/with/as nature. Together.
